Symbol of  Prefecture Okinawa

 

The symbolism of Okinawa national flag: The outer red circle symbalizes ocean that surrounds Okinawa from far and wide.  The white circle refers to peace loving Okinawa and the inner red circle stands for the global development of Okinawa.

The royal crest of the Ryukyu kingdom in Okinawa.  The royal mark is composed of three arms which symbolize the union of three kingdoms into one:

Hokuzan, Chuzan and Nanazan. 
 
Today it is also a symbol of Okinawan Martial Arts Karate Kobudo
