Franco Sanguinetti Sensei
Franco Sanguinetti started martial arts in 1972 in Peru, South America and has since then trained with traditional Okinawan and Japanese instructors, among them are recognized martial arts masters, Morio Higaonna, Juichi Kokubo, Shihan John Rosenberry, Shinpo Matayoshi, Yoshiaki Gakiya and Seisho Itokazu.
He holds the rank of Roku Dan (6th degree) in Matayoshi Kobudo, Roku Dan (6th degree) in Okinawan Gojo Ryu Karate- do and Shodan (1st degree) Iai-Do. Sanguinetti Sensei began his training in Matayoshi Kobudo when he moved to Venezuela in 1979, while there he met Gishin Hiramatsu Sensei who had trained under Matayoshi Shinpo Sensei while he was living in Japan. Sanguinetti Sensei had the opportunity to meet Matayoshi Sensei in 1981 while he was competing in the First IOGKF International Gasshuku and Tournament in Okinawa, Japan.
One year later in 1982, he moved to Okinawa in search of more knowledge, and had the rare opportunity to train extensively with the masters in Gojo-Ryu Karate, Matayoshi Kobudo at the famous Kodokan Dojo Naha, Okinawa.
Sanguinetti Sensei moved to the United States in 1985 and opened the Bushikan Karate Dojo in San Marcos, CA. He formed the MKKU (Matayoshi Kobudo Kodokan USA) to preserve and spread the art of Matayoshi Kodudo. He is the senior representative for the Matayoshi Family in the United States and to date he continues to travel worldwide conducting seminars and gasshukus for MKKU dojo affiliates and its members.
