Sensei Anderson started his martial arts training in Tae-kwon-do
in 1979 at the East YMCA under Instructor John Corbin. In 1984,
he began training at Capital City Karate under instructor Patrick Murphy and received his first degree black belt in 1987. Sensei Anderson received the majority of his teaching experience there especially working with young children.
To further continue his knowledge in the martial arts in 1993,
Sensei Anderson began training in Okinawan kobudo (weapon arts) and Okinawan Shorin-ryu karate at Yamashita Karate Studios in Waukesha, WI with 6th dan Sensei Neil Stolsmark.
Sensei Anderson has made a point to seek out and train with many high ranking instructors in Okinawan Karate and Kobudo in the United States and has had the opportunity to travel and train with the Masters in Okinawa, Japan, the birthplace of karate.
In August 2006, he began training under Master Instructor George W. Alexander, 10th dan Hanshi in Okinawan Matsumura Shorin-ryu Karate in Reliance, TN; in October 2006, he also began training with Franco Sanguinetti, 6th dan Renshi in Matayoshi Kobudo in
